Outline
KOSEN is an institution of higher education that nurture engineers with advanced and specialized knowledge and skills who can play an active role in industry through five-year integrated education in the regular course. There are 51 KOSEN colleges throughout Japan.
International students who wish to transfer to KOSEN are accepted through a transfer examination in the third year of KOSEN, and after transferring to the third year of KOSEN, they will study for three years in the regular course. The transfer examination offers a prearrival admission.
As practical education emphasizing experiments and practical training is provided from an early stage, entering KOSEN is the fastest way to become advanced and practical engineers that society demands.
Students can study a wide range of specialized fields including machinery, IT, electrical and electronic engineering, architecture, chemistry, business, and merchant marine engineering.
Not only in class, but also in various competitions and contests, students show their research and development achievements, such as Robocon※.
(※Robocon : KOSEN Robot Contest)
The practical skills cultivated through KOSEN education are highly valued by companies and universities, and students are able to find employment as practical engineers in companies (employment rate: almost 100%, jobs-to-applicants ratio: over 20 times). Students are also able to enter KOSEN advanced course (2-year program after graduation from the regular course) or transfer to university in the third year (about 70% of international students and about 40% of Japanese students go on to further education) and after graduation, students can enter even graduate school, so students can choose a variety of career paths after graduation as they wish.
KOSEN’s another good character is low tuition fee.
+ Admission fee: 84,600 yen
+ Tuition : 234,600 yen per year
(with 118,800 yen of study support subsidy provided only for third year students)
The annual tuition fee is less than 1/2 of that of a national university and 1/6 of an average tuition of private university for engineering, which makes your financial burden light.
Scholarships are also available to apply after enrollment.
There are students from Thailand at KOSEN, especially the Royal Thai scholarship students from the Princess Chulabhorn Science High Schools and Thai KOSEN (KOSEN-KMITL and KOSEN KMUTT).
Now there are 133 Thai students studying at KOSEN, and we hope you will join us and study together in the future.
We would be happy if you are interested in KOSEN.
